Work Miles Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Work Miles records your drives so you can sort them into work and personal miles. It is built so that your information stays on your phone. We don't run servers, you don't create an account, and we never receive your location or your drives.
What the app stores
When tracking is on, Work Miles uses your phone's location to detect drives. For each drive it saves the start and end time, the start and end place, the distance, and anything you add (work or personal, and a business purpose). This is stored only on your phone, in the app's own storage. It isn't uploaded anywhere by us.
If your phone's iCloud or iTunes backup is turned on, iOS may include the app's data in your device backup, as it does for most apps. That backup is handled by Apple under your Apple account.
Apple Maps lookups
To show addresses for where a drive started and ended, and to measure the road distance for parts of a drive the phone didn't record, the app asks Apple's built-in map services. These requests send the relevant coordinates directly from your phone to Apple and are covered by Apple's privacy policy. We don't see them.
What we collect
Nothing. Work Miles has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We don't sell or share any data, because we don't have any.
Exports
When you tap "Export work log", the app creates a CSV file and opens the iOS share sheet. The file goes only where you choose to send it.
Your control
- Turn tracking off any time with the switch at the top of the app.
- Change location access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Work Miles.
- Delete any drive from its detail screen. Deleting the app deletes all of its data from your phone.
Children
Work Miles is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
